Episode 9 - “You don’t call….” (Rest of the title stays hidden till the show premieres!)

I’m currently working on episode #9, which will debut online sometime this weekend. It’s our first super sized ep, and we are all super happy about it! We have a special guest on to talk with us in our holiday 07 video game round-table, as well as black friday madness! Oooh exciting!
Due to this show being super sized, it’s gonna be broken up into two seperate one-hour shows. Any objections? This also means the show notes are gonna be chock full of witty goodness. During the show I drop a few hints about our upcoming holiday episode plans. Yeah, the Wooj is going all out for Chrismahanukka. And my birthday. Which will be a national holiday someday. December 29th. Mark the date now, folks!

Why do Matt and I enjoy wrestling…

As told by Strongbad.

Every Tuesday Matt and I get together and watch (scan through, really) Monday night’s episode of Raw because for a long time we have both been huge wrestling fans…marks even for those who know the lingo.

Last night, with Episode 9’s special guest at the house, we started watching again. And as “guest” was asking questions I started thinking…why the hell do we still watch this.

WWE has become so disillusioned in what they do and it really has taken all the fun out of watching wrestling any more. Maybe we are just getting older, but I really think there is something lacking in the product that was there when we were younger.

WWE breaks kayfabe (showing fans the behind the scenes aspect of the company) more now than they ever have before as WWE magazine can’t even hold on to secrets (putting Y2J on the cover weeks before his debut). It’s just sad.

If I ever make any amount of money there are three things that I have thought about doing.

Kirby’s strip club

A bar

or a Wrestling Promotion where I can book something correctly.

Next paycheck, I’m buying $800 worth of lottery tickets and a Slim Jim…Snap into it.

Artistic opinion

I like to draw but I’m terrible. Thank god for computers really. Let me know what you think. It was a trace and I did some work on it but I DID NOT draw free hand. Just so everyone knows. Here’s the link to the real picture.

Please post comments, I’m vain and need attention.

Michelle Ryan from NBC’s bionic woman

In our hearts love keeps sweet-talking to despair and goes on sleepwalking past hope…

Today was interesting. Just, interesting. It’s like, there are things you expect to happen eventually, but when they do it’s still a blow.  So that’s all on that.

HIM unleashed the video to “Bleed Well” today. It fucking blows. It’s just so damn awful. Here’s my rant from the HIM forums:
“Just saw it. It’s fucking awful. It’s the band playing in a warehouse, and it’s all green tinted. No quick cuts, nothing that even connects the video with the song. Think Wings of a Butterfly, but no cool shots or anything. Very plain jane. There are no fans in the video either. Its labeled as a directors cut, so maybe there is a better version coming soon. ”
I’ll try to find a Youtube link soon to post it here.

Here’s a nice little link to Ville Valo’s entire “Limbo” rant. I really like the “Fucking….a” part. Brilliant!

I’m really fucking tired. I’ve been closing the last 3 nights and getting very little sleep. And I’m cranky.
Bleh.

If I die, I want everyone to know that I love them

I can’t really say if I’m going to die but have you ever had that sinking feeling in your stomach.

I just got a call at work from some random guy. I can’t remember the conversation verbatim but I want to write this down in case something happens.

“I’m having shortness of breath”

“I left my testimony at a college inside a King James”

“My mama was murdered”

“I won’t go back inside a church, even though I’m black, I won’t go back inside a church”

“I’ll be downtown”

“I’m bringing you a letter, I’ll address it to Steven. It will have directions to a college where my testimony is”

Click

If I get a letter, I’m not really sure what to do, but I can’t imagine it will be healthy. I kind of hope I do, and I kind of hope that it really has directions to this guy’s testimony.

I’ll keep you updated.

Gig’em Aggies

I’ve never been a college football fan, but I might have to be now. Texas A&M will announce Monday (Nov. 26) that Mike Sherman, former head coach of the Green Bay Packers from 2000-2006, will be hired as the new Aggies head coach. For those who don’t know, despite my Texas and Chicago ties, for some reason I’m a huge Green Bay fan and with the succcess that Sherman had with the Packers I will forever be impressed with his coaching prowess (despite his last season record of 4-12).

Confirmation will appear on the Star-Telegram website soon with a story on the front page of the Sports section tomorrow (Nov. 26).

HIM concert with Bleeding Through

If you like really bad music that is impossible to understand because of the amount of inane growling that goes on, I suggest you go see Bleeding Through.

It was impossible for me to discern what anything being said was outside of “bang your fucking head”

Their whole set sounded exactly alike and the forty minutes they played past by very slowly.

You could tell the lead singer was annoyed with the crowd not getting into it and every time they took a break he would explain that he didn’t care whether we liked their sound or not, he was just going to play.

It was so ridiculous.

Now on the opposite side of the spectrum, I was pleasantly surprised with HIM. The songs I knew (I’m not quite as into them as Matt is) were great. I really enjoyed it and was really into it.

It was kind of funny to see all the little kids trying to be goth. I really hope that the people I went through high school with weren’t ever like these kids. It was kind of sad.

I saw really disgusting things, bad, bad things that no one should ever have to live through. I am completely scarred for life.

Ville Valo had an awesome rant about the Pope denouncing limbo.

All in all it was a pretty fun experience. You can hear more about it on Episode 8 of Woojew, which should be up soon.

Remember any questions or requests that you guys have make sure you e-mail Matt or me or you can leave comments on the blogs.

Thanks for your growing support.

P.S.

Oh my God, it’s like listening to them on the show, but in text…

That’s right suckas! We’ve figured out how to blog, like the big kids do! We’ll mainly be using this to keep all of you updated on our goings-on. This blog will also serve as a way to interact directly with you. We will be posting show previews when possible and allow you all to comment. You can directly affect what material appears on each show! Want me to play more HIM? Let us know. Want me to play no HIM whatsoever? Keep that opinion to yourself, mister. Kidding. Comment here and let us know what you like and don’t like. So, say on Monday I post a blog about our upcoming show. I might say that we’re doing a segment on Disney World, HIM and popsicles. You can chime in and give your opinions before we even record. Don’t wanna hear about popsicles? If enough of you speak up, we won’t run the segment. Likewise, if enough of you agree with our ideas, we’ll run more of those. It’s a give and take scenario. (Pronounced “sen-AR-ee-oh”) We give, and you take.
Seriously though, this blog will serve was a tool to bridge the gap between listener and host. Or another venue for us to rant about shit. One of those.
